Post George D. Hay founder of the Opry 
George D. Hay was the founder of the Grand Ole Opry from an inspiration he got in 1919 in a Ozark cabin at a hoedown at Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. The Gerge D. Hay Society is working to preserve the legacy of Mr. Hay and the Ozark heritage. the website is at http://gdhaysociety.tripod.com check it out and see the origination of the idea for the Opry

Post Myths of the Opry 
Some believe that Mr. Hay was out of line to have the early entertainers dress as what some call hillbillies. The reason he did this was to conform to his theme and philosophy to keep it as simple as sunshine from the inspirtation he got in that Ozark cabin at the hoedown he attended in 1919. This if the reason they dressed like that, and the reason he gave the groups names like, The Possom Hunters, Fruit Jar Drinkers, Cotton Pickers and others.

Post Grand Ole Opry is 83 
Hi all you Grand Ole Opry lovers, it was founded in 1925 at Nashville, TN and is now 83 years old, wow, what a milestone.
